TRAFFIC SAFETY
It
is everyone’s responsibility to be mindful of changing roadway conditions in
construction zones. A few minutes of
patience and alertness on the road can save a life. Below are a few helpful tips for your morning
and afternoon commutes:
· PLAN AHEAD: Lane reductions and turn restrictions may
impact your commute. Allow extra time
through the construction zone, especially during school drop-off and pick-up
times.
· EYES FORWARD: Road conditions may change around a work
area. Minimize distractions and stay
alert for construction worker, vehicles or pedestrians.
· SLOW MEANS SAFE: Follow posted speed limits while traveling
within construction zones. Construction
zone speed limits have been lowered to 25 miles per hour.
