ILLEGAL FIREWORKS IN THE VPCA

9/1/2023

Dear Homeowners,

The Cadmus Properties office has received multiple complaints from homeowners within the VPCA Association regarding illegal fireworks activity on (specifically) the corner of Palai and Leia Street which occurred on or around Thursday, August 31, 2023 at approximately 8:45 pm. Specifically, fireworks were being set off causing a disturbance and safety hazard to the surrounding homes.

As managing agent, we want to emphasize a few important points regarding the dangers associated with illegal firework activity:

1. Safety Hazards: Fireworks are not toys; they are potentially lethal explosive devices. The improper usage and/or storage of fireworks can cause severe burns, eye injuries, hearing damage, property damage, and even fatalities. Furthermore, they can lead to fires that threaten your homes and endanger lives.

2. Disruption and Anxiety: The loud and unexpected noise generated by fireworks can disturb the peace of our community, negatively impacting children, pets, and individuals who may suffer from anxiety or post-traumatic stress disorders. This inappropriate activity disrupts the tranquility that we all value in our neighborhood.

3. Legal Consequences: It is essential to remind everyone that the use of fireworks within our community is illegal. The local authorities take this matter seriously, and any homeowners found participating in illegal firework activities will be subject to fines and penalties imposed by law enforcement agencies.

In an effort to preserve the safety and peaceful environment of your neighborhood, we kindly urge you to abstain from any participation in illegal fireworks activity. You must remember, as responsible homeowners, that your actions impact the welfare of the entire community. Let us emphasize the importance of protecting the collective well-being and individual safety of our fellow neighbors.

Moreover, we want to make clear that any witnessed instances of illegal firework activity will be promptly reported to the police for appropriate further action. As homeowners, you all share the responsibility of maintaining a secure and harmonious neighborhood, and it is crucial that we work together to address this issue effectively.

Your prompt attention and anticipated cooperation with regard to this matter is greatly appreciated.
